The very mention of the name Amazon conjures images of adventure and mystery. Designating the world's largest rainforest and the world's largest river, Amazon defines the word "exotic".

The Amazon is an area of superlatives. As the largest river system in the world, it throws into the ocean 20% of all the Earth's flowing fresh water. Its rain forest, the biggest in the world, constitutes in the richest and most diverse ecosystem on the planet, with over 70% of all plant and animal species and aspects to interest all possible types of tourists, from the simple sightseers to trackers and fishermen.

More then 80% of the Amazon Jungle are in Brazil. Manaus, the capital of the state of Amazonas, is situated right in the middle of this huge forest and its natural gateway. This is the point from which the ¨Amazon Clipper Cruises¨ departs.

We will explore the ¨igarapés¨ (river creeks) and ¨igapos¨ (flooded forests) by powered canoes, visit the natives and see their way of life, hike in the forest, as well as fishing, bird watching and river bathing. Lectures on the Amazon round up our programs.
