MANAUS - Capital of the state of Amazonas, the biggest of the Brazilian states with 1’500’000 square kilometers, considered the green state true his preservation politics, 97% of his territory is still primary rain forest.

MANAUS, in the heart of the tropical rain forest, is the main port for trips to the Amazon, at the confluence of the two biggest rivers on earth, the Negro River and the Amazon River, simply called the “Meeting of the Waters”.

MANAUS, the main port to visit the largest preserved area of tropical rain forest in the world, the Jaú National Park, witch is linked to the Mamirauá and Amaná sustainable reserves and together form the biggest preserved nature corridor of the world.

MANAUS is closed to the two biggest fluvial archipelagos on earth, the Mariuá archipelago (700 islands) and the Anavilhanas National Park (400 islands).


Amazon Clipper starts its cruises out of MANAUS and includes all of above mentioned nature highlights, the Anavilhanas National Park and the “Meeting of the waters” with the Janauary Ecological Park are included in the regular departure and botanical cruises. In some of the expeditions and special cruises we visit the Jaú National Park and the Mariuá archipelago.
